Winston Churchill said "We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give." Omega runs on this philosophy. Since it's inception, we have had over 400 staff people - each and every one of them as a volunteer.

The Omega organization is run primarily by volunteers, from our cleaning crews to our staff and facilitators. We have no wealthy benefactor. We do not advertise. We have no marketing scheme.

Established in 1978, we are still going strong offering a free program, by word of mouth, and run by volunteers. This in itself is a powerful statement. It is a testament to the work.

Our facilitators and staff are well trained and devoted people. They volunteer not only of their time; but their lives, their hearts and their souls.

Everyone who has completed an Omega Program may become a volunteer. However, we are quite selective of those individuals who staff and eventually facilitate. Our current facilitators have been involved in the organization for an average of 15-20 years. Many of them have waited as long as 8 years to facilitate.

George has stated many times, "Omega is the greatest co-op on the planet. There is no organization to join, no dues to pay. We exist simply because people keep coming."
